Free Mature Drivers Event – 27 April 2026 – Wellingborough
Are you a mature driver (aged 60+)? Live in Northamptonshire? Rely on being able to drive? This FREE event is for you!
Driving is an important part of our everyday life and we (Northamptonshire Safer Roads Alliance (NSRA)) are keen to help to keep mature drivers driving safer for longer.
Our driving ability to drive changes over time for different reasons, especially as we get older. It’s important that we recognise whether and how our driving is changing so we can stay safe and protect both ourselves and those around us.
This Mature Drivers event is aimed at drivers 60+, and will cover all different aspects of driving.
There will be FREE hints and tips drives available to book, delivered Northampton Advanced Motorists.
Our aim is to keep mature drivers driving safer, for longer. Book your Free tickets via Eventbrite https://www.eventbrite.com/cc/northants-mature-driver-roadshows-4099083
The event is being held at Darby House, Darby Close, Park Farm Industrial Estate, Wellingborough NN8 6GS (what3words.com///shaped.spice.span) with two sessions, 10 am and 12.30 pm.
Kilsby Parish Council would like to remind residents that fly-tipping is illegal, harmful, and entirely avoidable. By working together, we can protect our village’s countryside, lanes, and shared spaces for everyone.
❌ What Is Fly-Tipping?
Fly-tipping is the illegal dumping of waste such as:
Household rubbish
Garden waste
Furniture or mattresses
Builders’ materials
Electrical items
This often happens on verges, footpaths, gateways, and quiet lanes — places we all use and value.
⚠️ Why Fly-Tipping Is a Serious Problem
Fly-tipping:
❗ Puts people and wildlife at risk
💰 Costs public money to clear up
🌱 Damages the local environment
😞 Makes our village look uncared for
⚖️ The Legal Consequences
Fly-tipping is a criminal offence. Those caught can face:
Unlimited fines
Prosecution
A criminal record
Vehicle seizure in serious cases
If you use someone else to remove waste, you are still responsible for ensuring it is disposed of legally.
✅ Legal Ways to Dispose of Waste
There are simple, legal alternatives:
Use your local household waste recycling centre
Arrange bulky waste collection
Hire a licensed waste carrier (always ask for their licence details)
Prompt reporting helps keep Kilsby clean and prevents repeat incidents.
💚 Let’s Take Pride in Our Village
Kilsby is a place people care about. By disposing of waste responsibly and reporting fly-tipping, we help protect our environment and show pride in our community.
Thank you for your cooperation and continued support.
